I am seeking a Claims position in WC, Auto BI, General Liability, Disability, Subrogation or other claims area. I have handled claims in 16 jurisdictions including MA, NH, CT, and ME on WC, GL, and Auto BI. I have supervised 15 - 20 employees in an intense customer service environment.
Half of my prior work experience involved the administration and supervision of insurance claims, mostly in Workers Compensation, General Liability, Environmental, and Auto BI. In each of these areas I was responsible for dealing with claimants, lawyers, doctors, vendors, and customers over the phone. The job duties required me to negotiate settlements with lawyers, resolve billing and treatment issues with doctors and their administrators, and to resolve problems with claimants, vendors, and customers by phone and in person. I was also responsible for issuing payments, establishing financial reserves on these cases, and performing policyholder (customer) reviews.
The other half of my experience involved project management as a business analyst and project leader in the research (business requirements), design, specifications, implementation, and training on Insurance Business Systems. These projects ranged in size from small to implementing systems on a nationwide basis. In all projects, during the research phase, the needs of all customers and internal departments were studied and addressed. In this role I was responsible for budgets, project cost analysis, and performance reviews. During this phase of my career I became familiar, at an advanced level, with the MS Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. I also performed analysis on a number of software products offered by vendors. I am familiar with both the PC and Mac computers.
I believe my combination of claims and claims systems experience could add value to your company’s business operations. I look forward to an interview with you to discuss this position further.
